A Scalable, Cloud-Native Backbone for Trading-Partner Data Exchange

NexFlow

Modernizing trading-partner data exchange with a scalable, cloud-native platform

Challenge

To share data with trading partners and internal systems, the customer relied on legacy integration platforms (e.g., Dell Boomi and similar tools) that:

  • Pulled data directly from Dynamics 365
  • Transformed it into partner-specific formats
  • Exposed data via APIs and feeds
  • Sent data to internal systems such as WMS

Over time, this architecture began to show serious limitations:

  • Performance bottlenecks when querying D365 at scale
  • Unreliable integrations and frequent downtime during application upgrades
  • Tight coupling between ERP, integration logic, and partner formats
  • Limited agility to support new partners, regions, or business growth

As data volumes and partner complexity increased, the platform became a constraint on business velocity, rather than an enabler.

Solution

C2S modernized the integration landscape by designing and implementing NexFlow—a cloud-native data exchange platform built on Databricks and Azure technologies.

Instead of querying D365 directly for every transaction, NexFlow:

  • Decouples ERP systems from trading-partner integrations
  • Centralizes and prepares data in a scalable Lakehouse layer
  • Exposes standardized, high-performance APIs and feeds
  • Reliably delivers data to external trading partners and internal systems (including WMS)

This approach transforms integration from a fragile, point-to-point model into a resilient, data-driven platform.

Architecture Highlights

    • Lakehouse-based data preparation using Databricks
    • Azure-native services for orchestration and API exposure
    • ERP systems (D365) decoupled from partner-facing workloads
    • High-throughput, low-latency data delivery
    • Designed for zero downtime during upgrades and change events

Business Impact

  • Significantly improved performance for partner data exchanges
  • Increased platform reliability and uptime
  • Eliminated business disruptions during application upgrades
  • Faster onboarding of new trading partners and internal systems
  • A scalable foundation to support future growth

The Outcome

With NexFlow, C2S helped the customer move from a fragile, integration-heavy architecture to a modern, scalable data exchange platform.

The new platform:

  • Removed performance pressure from D365
  • Improved operational stability
  • Enabled the business to scale integrations confidently

NexFlow became a strategic integration backbone, supporting both current operations and long-term growth.
